It's Time to Hunt □

View this email in your browser Dear Game Creek Family: I usually send this out a little earlier. As we all know, somehow time has a way of slipping by… The good news is that the hunting season has begun! We opened for hunting Saturday, Oct. 5th. It’s time to do what we all love to do. Turn those dogs loose. Step out of the way and watch them go and do their thing. I had a couple dogs out last week for a “test hunt”. It’s hard to comprehend the amount of energy that they have. We added another hunting area this season. We are calling it " The Pines". Some of you will remember it as the old “Seabrook” piece. Cover is pretty stout there right now but it will be great for pheasant hunts until the cover thins down a bit. It will also help on those days when we tend to be booked up, to have an additional hunting area. Despite the relatively dry summer, the cover looks good. The switchgrass at Rolling Acres is less dense, but that might not be a bad thing. You will note that rates are up on average 10%. We did not raise them last year but as costs have continued to rise, we are forced to adjust. Once again, a few “housekeeping” items. As we started doing last season, when possible, it is helpful if you can pay prior to going out to hunt. The self service bird freezer seems to be working pretty well if you need to use it prior to heading home. Also, please keep in mind that PM hunts start at 1:00 and not noon. As much as possible, please utilize the narrow path that runs down the center of sorghum feed strips. This will help to maintain cover throughout the season. Over the years, it has been a privilege to have the wonderful clientele that we have come to enjoy. Businesses such as ours get reviews as you well know. Ours happens to be five star. But at the same time, I would very quickly give a five star rating to you, all of our hunting friends who make up the Game Creek family. We couldn’t have done it without you. I truly hope that you have an enjoyable and memorable hunting season. Here’s to falling leaves, frosty mornings, restless gundogs, and the smell of freshly spent gunpowder. It’s on. Here we go!
